Synrock is a chemically bonded ceramic. An artificial rock "created" in a mold to exist in a cool climbing shape. I have improved this ceramic over 20 years of refinement to improve strength and keep synrock as cheap as possible to keep my prices low - much lower than expensive easily polished plastic.
Stickyrock is a new slightly more expensive carbon ceramic composite with greater tensile strength which lets me make much smaller and thinner holds. It feels the same as synrock (just like sandstone). I generally only use the stickyrock formulation for smaller shapes that need it. If you want larger shapes made from sticky rock for gym or high use walls - I can do that for a nominal fee.
