"8" Pods
"8" center pods are named because the outline resembles the shape of a figure-8. This shape provides lots of area to create a hand hold and it is EXTREAMLY easy to cut this shape with a hole saw. The motivation for creating these centerpods was to make a dual use pod or inset hold and the inserts are available seperately for use in an inset system. The "8" shape is very easy to cut into a piece of plywood by using only a hole saw. You drill with a hole saw about half way through your piece of plywood, remove the hole saw and start another hole by placing the pilot bit anywhere on the outer circle cut from the hole saw. Drill both holes as deep as possible before breaking through. You can also make your own pods out of scrap 3/4" plywood for a real inexpensive system.
